A Sum Rule for the Two-Dimensional Two-Component Plasma

چکیده
In a two-dimensional two-component plasma, the second moment of the density correlation function has the simple value {12π[1 − (Γ/4)]2}−1, where Γ is the dimensionless coupling constant. This result is derived by using analogies with critical systems.

Another Derivation of a Sum Rule for the Two-Dimensional Two-Component Plasma
In a two-dimensional two-component plasma, the second moment of the number density correlation function has the simple value {12π[1 − (Γ/4)]2}−1, where Γ is the dimensionless coupling constant. This result is derived directly by using diagrammatic methods. Dedicated to Joel Lebowitz on the occasion of his 70th birthday
متن کاملLocal Field Correction Effect on Dicluster Stopping Power in a Strongly Coupled Two-Dimensional Electron Gas System
We calculate the stopping power for heavy-ion diclusters moving in a strongly coupled two-dimensional electron gas system by using the local field corrected dielectric function at finite temperature. We obtain a parameterized local field correction factor based on a relation between the thermal compressibility and exchange-correlation energy in two-dimension. The interpolated parameter is deriv...
متن کاملGuest Charge and Potential Fluctuations in Two-Dimensional Classical Coulomb Systems
A known generalization of the Stillinger-Lovett sum rule for a guest charge immersed in a two-dimensional one-component plasma (the second moment of the screening cloud around this guest charge) is more simply retrieved, just by using the BGY hierarchy for a mixture of several species; the zeroth moment of the excess density around a guest charge immersed in a two-component plasma is also obtai...
متن کاملMicroscopic Calculation of the Dielectric Susceptibility Tensor for Coulomb Fluids
In a Coulomb fluid confined to a domain V , the dielectric susceptibility tensor χV depends on the shape of V , even in the thermodynamic V → ∞ limit. This paper deals with the classical two-dimensional one-component plasma formulated in an elliptic V -domain, equilibrium statistical mechanics is used. For the dimensionless coupling constant Γ = even positive integer, the mapping of the plasma ...
متن کاملA pr 2 00 7 Correlations and sum rules in a half - space for a quantum two - dimensional one - component plasma
This paper is the continuation of a previous one [L. Šamaj and B. Jancovici, 2007 J. Stat. Mech. P02002]; for a nearly classical quantum fluid in a half-space bounded by a plain plane hard wall (no image forces), we had generalized the Wigner-Kirkwood expansion of the equilibrium statistical quantities in powers of Planck’s constant h̄. As a model system for a more detailed study, we consider th...
